Declaración de Artista | Artist's Statement

Mi obra es la representación exacta y detallada de objetos reales o imaginarios.

Por medio del dibujo académico expongo la estructura, fragilidad y relación tanto compositiva como simbólica de los objetos, así como su interacción con otros elementos.

Creo imágenes que retoman el espíritu de las ilustraciones de los antiguos libros de ciencia, en los cuales la descripción naturalista está compuesta de elementos estéticos y ornamentales, en este sentido, traslado y amplío la intención de objetos de uso común, replanteando su función en diversos contextos, dando lugar a un mundo alternativo a la mente y los sentidos.

Las estructuras y elementos solitarios que se representan de manera autónoma, ocupan buena parte de mi producción; consecuencia de un análisis profundo a través de la observación y apropiación de imágenes, recreándolas de tal forma que pueden ser o no parte de una serie. Análisis tanto sensorial, por la forma en que se captura la esencia, color, olor, forma, textura, etcétera; así como racional por la ejecución de la técnica.

Logrando con ello, que objetos banales como plumas, piedras, hojas, ramas y huesos entre otros, al ser interpretados por medio del arte se convierten en el eje central de la obra.

My artwork is a precise and detailed representation of real or imaginary objects.

Through academic drawing I expose the structure, fragility and relationship, both symbolic and compositional, of objects; as well as their interaction with other elements.

I create images that retake the spirit of ancient science books’ illustrations, in which the naturalistic depicting is compound by aesthetic and ornamental elements. In this sense, I transfer and amplify the intention of the usage of common objects, redefining their role in various contexts, resulting in an alternative world for the mind and senses.

Solitary structures and elements that are represented independently, occupy much of my production; which is a consequence of a deep analysis based on observation and appropriation of images. I recreate those images in a way that they may or may not be part of a series. The appropriation analysis is in a way, sensory, due to how the essence of color, smell, shape and texture gets captured and, on the other hand, is rational, because of the technical execution. As a result, banal objects such as feathers, stones, leaves, branches and bones amongst others, within an art interpretation, become the medullar axis of my oeuvre.
